Nurturing Lives in Japan's Aging Society through Clinical Experiences
EuSense Medical is committed to delivering products designed to significantly improve the Quality of Life, a commitment rooted in our ongoing research and development endeavors. In our rapidly aging society, the prevalence of dysphagia and aspiration pneumonia is increasing, highlighting the urgent need for solutions. Our goal is to contribute to a brighter future for social welfare in Japan by conducting translational research that spans from diagnosis and prevention to treatment.
Reflecting on my past, I worked on Awaji Island in the Osaka Bay area. In 2004, during a home visit, I encountered a patient grappling with dyspnea (breathlessness) and dysphagia (swallowing disorder) resulting from a brainstem stroke (Wallenburg syndrome). Witnessing this struggle became a serendipitous moment that fueled my determination to develop a device facilitating swallowing, drawing upon my background as a respiratory physiologist.
Several years later, another serendipitous encounter occurred when I crossed paths with Hiroshi Ueno, CEO of JCraft. Together, we created an interferential current-type low-frequency electrical stimulator. In 2013, EuSense Medical Co., Ltd. was established with a clear vision to transform basic medical research into innovative products that authentically enhance people's well-being. Our steadfast mission and passion are centered around safeguarding the physical and mental health of individuals. Guided by this principle, EuSense Medical advances confidently, one step at a time.
